Kansas City icons Tech N9ne and Gates
Bar B.Q. have joined forces in Tech
N9ne's latest single and music video,
"O.G.", the debut single
from Tech N9ne's upcoming "collabos"
release The Gates Mixed Plate, set
to release on July 27, 2010. MTVu
is set to host the world premiere
of the "O.G." music video
on Friday, June 11. The video, largely
shot at Gates Bar BQ, features Tech
N9ne celebrating the simple things
in life: women, cars, and of course,
barbeque. Tech raps over a beat that
would make George Clinton blush and
displays a lighter side that was noticeably
absent on his last album K.O.D. This
barbeque-and-party anthem is sure
to complete any summer day and induce
cravings for finger-licking barbeque
with a side of beans and strawberry
soda. Kick off the summer the right
way and go to MTVu.com to check out

XDL Championship Series
Round 02: Havasu- Final Results
April 10 & 11, 2010
Havasu 95 Speedway - Lake Havasu City,
AZ
Well
lets just say I had to redeem myself
from all the bad luck in Daytona and
thats exactly what I did. Coming off
a gnarly crash / injury in Daytona
crushing my foot I had very little
time to heal and practice. Ya, less
then a week! I was still able to put
my Team XMX - Kawasaki back up on
top and pretty much swept the Red
Bull podium in almost every event!
It really felt good to be back up
on the podium in that #1 spot. Im
really looking forward to carrying
this momentum into the next round
in Nashville, TN.
3
- 1st Place finishes
2 - 2nd Place finishes
1 - 8th Place finish
The
2010 return of the XDL Championship
Series to Lake Havasu City marked
one of the most exciting competition
weekends in several seasons. For once
the weather decided to cooperate,
providing back-to-back days in the
mid 80s with occasional bursts of
wind. The Friday FMF Cup qualifying
session gave an early indication of
things to come when Nick “Apex”
Brocha took the top spot with a 75
point run that was 6.5 points higher
than second place Cali Alliance rider
Rick Hart. It seemed Brocha was back
to his winning ways of 2008, but not
without overcoming a lot of adversity
in the process. Earlier in the week
Brocha had to rebuild his bike due
to a mechanical issue and then he
opted to help his Japanese teammates
Shinsuke Kinoshita and Hiroyuki Ogawa
rebuild their bikes not once, but
twice due to severe mechanical issues.
All of which cost him valuable practice
time. And if the first run was any
indication, it appears it would cost
him a shot at the win. Brocha crashed
out, recording a measly 45.5 and placing
him at the bottom of the field. But
the new scoring system of three 2-minute
runs with one throw away gives the
riders some breathing room and allows
for a lot of strategy to come into
play. Generally, competitors try to
lay down a solid baseline run in the
first attempt, back it up in run two
and then give themselves a chance
to go for broke in run three. For
Brocha that wasn’t an option.
His second run scored 73.5, which
put him right back in contention for
the lead, but only if he could back
it up one more time. Meanwhile top
contenders like Bill Dixon and Chris
McNeil had already booked two solid
runs and could afford to gamble on
the last attempt. So for Brocha it
came down to a choice in strategy.
Stated a nervous Nick Brocha before
his final run: “My first run
put me behind the eight ball. So now
I need to decide whether I should
go for broke to win it all or to play
it safe and go for a podium so I am
guaranteed some money.” In the
end he picked a happy medium and rode
to a 72-point run that put him over
the top by 2 points and gave him his
first win since 2008.
Meanwhile Bill Dixon suffered the
reverse fate, crashing in his third
run, resulting in a DNF. Dixon tends
to get a slower start than some other
riders and goes big in his second
run. Just like at Daytona, Dixon’s
middle run netted the highest score
of the weekend with a very high 76
point score. That put him in the lead
after two runs and gave him the opportunity
to go for broke in run three. Which
he did but it cost him. Two-thirds
of the way through a very difficult
and potentially winning run, his kickstand
came down accidentally, hitting the
ground and causing Bill to high-side
as he rotated left on his Yamaha.
The impact broke his handle bar and
it was game over. Still, Dixon had
enough in the bank to take second.
And overall he had an excellent weekend
rounded out by his first-ever win
in the K&N Circle Challenge. Stated
an elated Dixon after his win: “I
feel great. I’m a bit sore from
my crash but winning K&N was the
highlight of my weekend. Nobody does
sit down circles and I’ve been
talking trash to everybody because
I practiced a lot and I knew I could
win if I could get it to lock in.
I’ve never even been in the
K&N Circle Challenge Finals. I’m
super excited.” In a sign of
how mind games area starting to play
a bigger part in the strategy of the
sport, Dixon did a high-speed drift
past the hot pits after he beat Brocha
in the K&N Circle Challenge Finals,
taunting fellow competitors and holding
up the number one.
Another competitor returning to his
number one ways at Havasu was BMW
rider Chris “Teach” McNeil.
His 180hp BMW 1000RR in combination
with his “on the edge”
style gave the crowds a thrill and
had them holding their breath for
every run. “ The point of me
riding a motorcycle is to make you
think I’m gonna crash. And not.
The speed, the danger, the smoke.
That’s me. I love it.”
But excitement aside. McNeil put himself
in position to once again content
for the championship: “Havasu
was the determination of my championship
hopes. I already took my bye at Daytona
so I had to do well. My third place
here puts me right back in the hunt.
Teach is back.”
Outside of FMF Cup and the K&N
Circle Challenge, Dan Jackson from
Olathe, Kansas swept the top spots
in Aprilia All Star Challenge, Speed
& Strength Sickest Trick and Freestyle
Burnout. The Aprilia All Star Challenge
was a hotly contested battle with
only 1.6 seconds separating Jackson
winning time of 23.31 from Brian Bubash
in second and Bill Dixon in third.
Dan won the Speed & Strength Sickest
Trick contest over Tony Carbajal with
wide spreader circles that went from
edge to edge.
Sartso Women’s Cup saw Texas
competitor Brandy Valdez qualifying
for the national finals in Indy.
Round 3 of the XDL Championship Series
takes place May 14 & 15 at Nashville
Superspeedway in Lebanon, TN. XDL

XDL
Daytona Beach - 3/4/2010
No Luck in
Daytona!
XDL kicked
off its first round of competition
in Daytona Beach, FL at Daytona International
Speedway during bike week. When you
think of bike week, you think of beautiful
weather with thousands of motorcycles
cruising the streets. This year was
different. The weather was cold and
rainy! It wasn’t the typical
March trip to the Sunshine State that
I’ve been used to. The 80 degree
warm weather sunshine was no where
to be found! During the long cold
winter I was only able to prepare
myself for the 2010 season off the
bike. I worked long and hard creating
a freestyle program to separate myself
from other riders, securing new and
negotiating current sponsorships.
Smither’s Customs had the bikes
torn down for custom fabrication and
paint. The hard work paid off! Wrap
It Up Vehicle wraps did a phenomenal
job with the TeamXMX rig and bikes,
bringing that factory look to freestyle
sport bike riding. A look that has
yet to be seen, catching the eyes
of some of the biggest corporations
within the motorcycle industry. Overly
excited about the new look and looking
forward to warm weather riding, the
ball stopped moving in my favor. During
practice on Thursday I had a lil mishap
and crashed an Elevator. Losing my
balance in the wind, I checked the
bars and grabbed a handful of front
brake instantly launching me off the
front of the bike. It’s never
good when you get run over by your
own bike! Haha!! My Alpinestars jacket
and Shoei helmet kept me safe and
I only encountered a few bruises on
my palms and back. I took some ibuprofen
and got some rest for qualifying on
Friday. During qualifying the 3M adhesive
on my grip decided it was going to
gum up and become goo again. It’s
hard enough controlling one throttle,
try controlling your throttle with
a loose grip. It was like having 2
throttles. Luckily qualifying was
only 2 minutes and I was able to secure
a 5th place spot for the finals. The
highlight of my weekend! Shortly after
my run I began to feel under the weather
and somehow managed to catch a flu
bug. After vomiting all day Saturday
I decided it would be best that I
didn’t ride and chose to sit
out and rest up for the finals on
Sunday. A good decision, but still
didn’t allow enough time for
the rest that I needed. During the
finals I was still weak and cloudy.
The new freestyle format requires
each rider to perform (3) 2 minute
runs throwing out the lowest score.
I went out in my first run about ½
steam, trying to save myself for the
final 2 runs that would be judged
later in the day. That didn’t
work out so well. It was time for
my final 2 runs and I was still sick.
Knowing I had to go big, on the opening
trick of my 2nd run I went for an
elevator and failed. Pretty sure my
legs gave out and I rolled off the
bike. I knew I was in trouble and
had to throw down a stellar performance.
I jumped up like a spider monkey,
grabbed my bike, and began riding
with a lot of aggression pushing the
limits. Pushing them a little too
far that I high sided a rev-limiter
burnout drift. After that it was lights
out! I had a gnarly get off, barrel
rolling with my bike several times.
The bike was wrecked and I had crushed
my left foot pretty bad. At that time
I knew I was out of the competition.
I was in a lot of pain and not sure
if I was going to be able to ride
again. My teammate Johnny Seals somehow
managed to rebuild my Kawasaki ZX6R
with spare Vortex parts in the rig
and the EMT medics were able to wrap
my foot so I could ride. I went out
and gave it hell one more time trying
to salvage some needed points for
the championship series, managing
to pull off a 10th place finish. I’m
home now resting up now trying to
redeem myself of this nasty spill
looking forward to the next round.
I guarantee the other riders won’t
have it so easy in Havasu! J

Stuntwars US Open Results
Thanks everyone for all your support!
I'm stoked with my results considering
the winter down time and really love
the new Kawasaki ZX6R and setup for
2010. Raising the bar once again for
professionalism in sportbike freestyle
making the podium in every event during
this years US Open freestyle competition.
What should have been a clean sweep,
winning 1st in all events, I fell
short to brake fade in the stunt cross
losing by inches, encountering a simple
slide out in the stoppie course kept
me from gaining any points on my first
obstacle, losing by 1 point, and a
3rd place freestyle finish in the
judges eyes which I felt it was one
of my best 5 minute performances ever.
I put everything I had into my run
falling short to Yamaha factory rider
Bill D and New England native Luke
Duke. I'm really looking forward to
carrying this momentum into XDL's
Round 1 season opener in Daytona during
bike week, putting my sponsors back
up on the podium yet once again!
Thanks again for all your support!

Nick
Brocha Wins 2008 XDL Sportbike Freestyle
Championship / Dan Jackson Claims
2008 Aprilia All Star Challenge Title
The XDL Sportbike Freestyle Championship
closed out the 2008 season in Long
Beach in spectacular fashion. Both
of the points battles came down to
the final event. Nick Brocha, Bill
Dixon and Alex Flores were only 9
points apart for the Sportbike Freestyle
Championship, while Dan Jackson and
Bill Dixon were separated by only
6 points in the Aprilia All Star Challenge.
With 45 points up for grabs for first
place in each competition, it was
still anyone’s game.
But in order for either Bill Dixon
or Alex Flores to take the championship
from Nick Brocha he had to make a
big mistake. Instead Brocha managed
to put on a flawless outing, taking
both the top qualifying spot, as well
as the win. Said Brocha: "My
expectations were that my friend Bill
Dixon or I would be the champions...I’m
happy it was me though." Bill
Dixon left nothing on the table but
couldn’t match Brocha’s
execution: "I had a few execution
problems with my run. The difference
between first and second was execution.
Nick Apex is a phenomenal rider and
he deserves it." Alex Flores
put in a valiant effort but was unable
to defend his 2007 crown. Stated Flores:
"I came out to win. I gave it
my best but I came out 4th."
A full event report will be posted
at motorcycle.com
In the Aprilia All Star Challenge,
which takes place on stock Aprilia
SXV 4.5s, points leader, record holder
and previously unbeaten Dan Jackson
secured his 2008 crown with a solid
second place finish. Dixon still had
plenty to smile about because XDL
eligibility rules prevented Jackson
from winning the SXV 4.5 awarded to
the winner since he is already a member
of the Aprilia Demo Team. So Dixon’s
second place points finish earned
him a new Aprilia SXV 4.5.

more details.
I did it! All of my training for
Stuntwars paid off! I pulled off something remarkable, finishing 1st place in
both Individual Freestyle and Team Event. This victory was a huge accomplishment
for me. The list of registrants included some of the most talented riders in the
world. I was competing up against world champions such as factory BMW / Red
Bull’s branded rider Christian Pfeiffer and Europe’s Godfather of the sport AC
Farias, plus over 100 entry’s that included top riders from the
USA.
The Individual freestyle comp was
off the hook, the most difficult one yet. My run was flawless; I nailed all my
tricks and didn’t make any mistakes. I knew I had to throw down my best run ever
to compete with Pfeiffer and AC. In the finals, Christian Pfeiffer and I tied
for 1st place. This has never been done before. To satisfy the crowd we agreed
to go back out and battle once again for a tie breaker! Pfeiffer went out first,
he rode very well but made some mistakes. I couldn’t believe it, the 15,000 fans
were going absolutely nuts. The pressure was really on; I went out last and
threw down a clean run, didn’t make any mistakes and scored high enough to beat
out the world champion by ½ a point.
The Team Freestyle run was also
outstanding. Our team’s name - “Five Men and a Baby”. This included the “Men” -
Dan Jackson, Kane, Joe Dryden, Nick Apex, E-Dub Ernie, and the “Baby” - 15 yr
old rider Aaron Colton. We worked hard during the week to choreograph a run. Not
having a place to practice together we had to go through our run in our head.
Sometimes walking through our run in the pits to mimic what it would be like on
the track. In the end, all the hard work paid off, we worked together as a team
and rode together as a team, resulting with another 1st Place
finish!
This is a great way to kick the
year off! I plan to keep the ball rolling, my next comp is Feb 10th in San
Antonio, Texas. Inside the Alamo Dome during a IFMA FMX event with 40,000+
fans!
I want to thank all of you again
for the support! Without you it wouldnt be possible!
Thanks, Dan Jackson – Team

This is a CASTING CALL for a
reality stunt show called STREET STUNT STARS. It will be a show based on the
street bike life style and stunting. It will be broadcasted on a major network
in the spring of 2007. We are looking for anyone who knows how to do bike stunts
from beginners to the pros. We are looking for character as well as bike riding
ability. Our show will be the best in the industry and it will give people a
chance to win a cash prize. We are picking a stunt team at the end of the show
that will do a ten city tour and a video game. They also will get the grand
prize of $20,000, a Chevy truck and a bike trailer. No one has yet to give away
a prize of this stature in our industry to one person let alone 4 people. We
need 2 minutes of your stunting footage on dvd (preferred) and 2 minutes of why
we should pick you for our show. You need to fill out a Registration Form and
send a $30.00 check or money order with the registration and dvd to: Street
Stunt Stars P.O. Box 69021, Hampton VA 23669. Or click on the registration
button to register on line. Everyone that applies will recieve an email or a
phone call informing them of their status. The deadline to apply is November 30,
2006. Be one of the first to break down the barriers in our sport and make it
known to the world.
Saturday Oct. 7th was the 3rd annual CTC
charity ride. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day, it was perfect, 85 degrees
and sunny! Around 200 bikes came out for the ride. This was pretty good,
considering Kansas City had 4 other charity rides that were planned the same
day. With all the participants who signed up, we raised a little over $3100 for
the Ronald McDonald House. This donation will go along way, helping all the
children and family's who stay at the RMHC. I want to thank all of those who
sponsored the ride and those who donated items for the raffle. The ride wouldn't
have been such a success without your support! We are already looking forward to
a 4th annual ride next year!!! A strong mind. A strong body. And a safe,
supportive place to grow. These are things that every child needs - and
deserves. Helping to provide these things is what we do.
Sincerely - Dan & Kortney
Below is a link to a few pics of the ride,
thanks to DJ Starscream a.k.a. Sid #0 with Slipknot
for coming out and providing entertainment
during the GO FAST after party!
October is just around the corner and the 7th
is the date set for our 3rd annual "CTC" ride. The last two years have been very
successful. The number of motorcycle participants tallying close to 750 riders
with over 500 bike entrys, raising a total over $4,000 for the Ronald McDonald
Charity. This year's charity will again benefit the "Ronald McDonald House
Charity" and will start and stop at the Hooters in Olathe, KS. (119th &
Strangline Rd by AMC Studio 30) Purpose and Goals for the Ride - At Ronald
McDonald House Charities, they strive to reduce the burden of childhood illness
on children and their families. They provide temporary lodging in a home-like
setting with private bedrooms, as well as dining, kitchen and recreational
areas. Ronald McDonald House Charities cannot cure a child, but it can alleviate
the worry and expense of finding a close, comfortable and affordable place for
the family to stay. And, that can make a world of difference to a child bravely
battling an illness. Last years event included an 80 mile motorcycle ride that
looped around the city, breakfast was available before the ride at Danny's Bar
& Grill, live entertainment, free prizes, food and beverages after the ride
for those who donated at Smithers Customs Motorcycle Shop in Olathe. This year
we are hoping to have a similar ride except with the start and stop point at the
same location.
EVS-Sports is now a proud sponsor of Team XMX.
I want to give a special thanks to Brady over at EVS-Sports for supporting what
I do best. Stunt Riding!!! EVS-Sports offers the Best Protective Gear for your
body. I wont ever step foot on my bikes again without EVS-Sports Knee/Shin
guards. I cant remember the last time I had a bruise on my knee and lower leg
over the past year!!! Thank you EVS for keeping me safe! Heres a little story
about EVS-SPORTS...
THE EVS STORY...
The year was 1985... in a cloud of dust, a
loud crash and the agonizing screams of pain and defeat. Everyday people that
push the limits surround themselves with outcomes like this. This is what makes
an “EXTREME” athlete, an individual that shows no bounds and is willing to put
it all on the line. So what does an athlete do that is always putting them self
at risk of injury ... they find quality protective gear. As the story goes, a
motocross rider that injured his knee one too many times decided that the
everyday pain he was going through was enough! Out of this an idea was born,
I'll make a product that will protect my knees while I ride. This was the birth
of genius and a company that is focused on keeping riders in one piece. The
original product, the AMX-5 knee brace, which has been worn by some of the
world's most prestigious athletes was the building block for today's most
complete extreme protection product line ever. And with extreme athletes plagued
by the injuries of increased speed and fierce competition....EVS product
development was excelerated. Several catalogs later and yes, more seasoned
staff, EVS pressed onward. The product line growing, extreme sports gaining in
popularity, and key alliances being formed with the likes of Parts Unlimited,
Tucker Rocky, MC Stuff , Gary "Professor" Bailey, Travis Pastrana and other top
athletes, EVS was on the move. With the same dedication extreme athletes put
into their sport and the endless moments of sweat, blood and tears.......EVS has
spent the past 2 decades solely focused on the safety of you.
Don't be a fan.....be a player.

National champion stunt biker set up local
charity ride
By Garth Sears, Special to The Olathe
News
At first glance, Dan Jackson is average. He
has a house in Olathe, where he has lived for about eight years. He works at a
local phone company. He gives back to the community. He's 28 years old and has
aspirations for the future. But a deeper look reveals that Jackson is anything
but average. He has a wild side. While he's doing complex stunts on a
motorcycle, often in midair, people call him "Crazy Dan." He tours the country,
from California to Texas and Florida to Pennsylvania, participating in what he
calls "freestyle sportbike riding." His stunts are dangerous, but he's got them
down cold. In 2002, Jackson was the National Sportsbike Freestyle Champion
runner-up. A year later, he took the title for himself. But it isn't easy having
his hobby. Since he works Monday through Friday, but does shows hundreds of
miles away on the weekends, he maintains a hectic schedule and makes many
sacrifices. "Pretty much all my vacation time I use traveling around. I try to
do stuff every weekend," Jackson said. "I drive all night to get somewhere on
Friday night, do a show, competition on Saturday, and Sunday drive straight
home. "All my vacation is spent driving the truck somewhere. I'm an adrenaline
junkie, I guess." Despite his busy life, though, Jackson's trying to raise more
support for himself around Kansas City. "I'm trying to promote myself to get
more credibility locally, instead of all this national stuff I've been doing,"
Jackson said, "so I can do more stuff for people here." Some of that "stuff"
includes setting up charity bike rides in Olathe, similar to "Bikers for
Babies." A few years ago, Jackson set up a charity ride called "Circle the City"
charity ride. The event raised over $4,000, which was donated to the Ronald
McDonald House. This year, the third annual ride, will start in Olathe on
September 23, wend through the wider Kansas City metro area, and finish back in
Olathe. As for Jackson, he's still got a lot on his plate with a stunt-bike
rider. He's booked with shows all summer, up until the ride. ESPN's X-Games are
considering adding his sport to their competitions, he said. Jackson also
maintains two websites. One, teamxmx.com, is his official website. Another,
learntostunt.com, is "an online school for teaching people how to ride," he
said. He even may eventually open an extreme sports bar and grill in Olathe.
Indeed, Dan Jackson is anything but average. Smithers Customs of Olathe
currently sponsors the Circle the City ride. Others interested in sponsorship
for or participatation in the ride should contact Kortney Nelson at
info@teamxmx.com or call (913) 221-5848.

Back under the Knife! I had kneed surgery on
Friday to remove the screws in my femur. Before I went in I was very excited
about this surgery. Having the screws removed from my leg was going to alow for
better mobility in my knee. Well, it didnt go so good! Waking up after surgery
the doctor tels me that one of the screws was stripped out while being put in
and he wasnt able to remove one. Now Im left with a screw in my knee, which
means this fall when the rod was supposed to be removed, probably will not
happen.
To be continued in the fall...

this past week has been nuts! i went out to
travis's house to learn the back flip and to back flip my streetbike into his
pit and get some nutty footage for "A Few Loose Screws II" It was off the hook,
never a boring moment at travis's house. got to hang out with alot of cool
riders...pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler fmx star Cowboy Kenny
Bartram, Andy Bell, the nitro III film crew,
plus many many more. His place is like a mad house. People are coming and going
non stop! The riding and insane stunts Travis and his crew were doing for Nitro
Circus III were CRAZY! Im glad I made it back to KC in one piece. Unfortunately
my friend Ben Smolen who helped with filming and the drive out there didnt make
it back with me today because he is in the hospital. He is in Baltimore Shock
trauma with a broken femur, a huge gash in his chin, severe bruises, and is in a
lot of pain. After I pulled off the flip a few times, he decided to give it a
try. His 1st attempt was pretty good. He got upside down 1/2 way and landed on
his head. His 2nd attempt wasnt so good. We told him to hit it a little faster
and to pull harder. Well thats exactly what he did.....only he went to the
right! He launched off the ramp, totally missing the pit and landed on top of
the bob cat used to pull the bikes out. (I seriously thought my friend just
died) It was the sickest crash to witness in real life. The whole crash is on
film and will be featured in AFLS II and Nitro 3! You won't want to miss out on
this one! I want to wish Ben a speedy recovery on this mishap! I know hes going
through alot of pain right now and will be for the next few months! Everyone
please keep him in your thoughts! Dan
Thanks Again Travis for the hospitality and
making us feel right at home this past week! Learning the backflip was amazing
along with all the other insane stunts that were pulled off! Nitro Circus III is
going to kick ass!
Heres a pic of my 1st backflip attempt...I
made it all the way thanks to travis and his advice!

XSBA Rocks Houston's Reliant Stadium for
46,000
Ken Abbott
There were almost 46,000 people on hand at
Houston's Reliant Stadium, (where the Houston Texans NFL football team plays).
The stadium capacity is 75,000 but when the XSBA riders took to the floor under
spotlights and fireworks on Saturday night you would have thought that the
stadium was at capacity. Eight of the XSBA's hottest stars were on hand to put
on the 1st ever street freestyle feature show inside a dome or arena. The
concrete surface was prepared and had adequate traction, however as the night
went on, the surface became less functional. Despite the slick surface, the
riders put on a show that was beyond amazing as the crowd lit up with every
acrobatic maneuver... ending with a 50' endo by Teach (McNeil), which by the
crowd reaction, you would have thought that he did a back-flip. Thomas Evans was
rockin' the microphone with Lurch, and did a great job with the color
commentary. Everyone had a great time at the pit party which opened prior to the
show. The XSBA riders signed autographs for 1.5 hours before opening ceremonies
and another 1.5 hours after lasting until almost 1:00 in the morning. The crowd
had a great time and took to the sport very well... so we expect big things for
the future. XSBA would like to thank everyone who supported the Houston XSBA
event, the riders, photographers, regional and national media, sponsors, and
especially the fans who turned out in force. Your energy was contagious! The
final competition order:
(name / score)
1. Pat Stephens (92.0) Hon929
2. Chris McNeil (91.9) Kaw636
3. Tony D'Orsi (91.1) Hon900
4. Grant Sunday (90.6) Suz600
5. Kane Friesen (88.7) Suz1000
6. Ronnie Hurst (87.6) Suz1000
7. Dan Jackson (87.0) Hon954
8. Warren James (86.0) Suz929
Stay tuned for other potential Clear Channel
events in which the XSBA may be included, such as ramp-to-ramp FMX (non-dirt)
programs, Monster Truck Thunder Nationals (non-dirt), and CCE/NBC's newly formed
Dew Action Sports Tour events in Louisville, Denver, Portland, San Jose, and/or
Orlando.

January 22nd 2005 - US Freestyle competition
at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX
Saturday night January 22nd, 8 of the U.S.’s
top street freestyle riders will be competing for a $10,000 purse inside of
Houston’s Reliant Stadium. The event is sanctioned by Clear Channel's XSBA and
will be held in conjunction with Clear Channel's Freestyle MX program. It will
also include Motard Fiddy (50cc) races, and Shifter Kart races. This event is
invite only and there will be representatives from Clear Channel's Mountain Dew
Action Sports Tour (formerly Gravity Games) attending the event. Due to time and
space restraints, the opportunity for open qualifying sessions for other riders
did not present itself as a feasible option. The riders were chosen based on
prior involvement in the XSBA, availability, commitment, and overall riding
capabilities. Many capable riders were discussed, however the final 8
competitors that were chosen are as follows: ‘Crazy’ Dan Jackson - (2003 XSBA
National Champion), Patrick Stephens Freestyle, Tony D Freestyle, Chris ‘Teach’
McNeil, Ronnie ‘The Hitman’ Hurst, Grant Sunday KC's Most Wanted, Warren James,
KaneOne
I want to give a shout out and a BIG THANKS to
Bill at Full Throttle Inc www.fullthrottleinc.net (the best handbrake set up to
date) and Phil at Thrust Company www.thrustcompany.com (stunting sprocket
company) Both of these companys offer great products for the sportbike and
freestyle industry. Im very pleased to pick them up as a sponsor and look
forward to using their product in 2005!
Just got home from a weekend trip down south
(Dallas, TX) to ride in the warm weather. I want to thank Shugga and Patrick
Stephens for giving us a place to crash. The weather was pimp for riding on
Saturday, but decided to rain alittle on Sunday. That didnt stop us from
riding...it was still over 60 degrees. Saturday was CRAZY, on the way out to the
riding spot, Patrick decided to pick up a BUM hitch hiking off I-35. We bought
him some beer and fed him some food and then filmed with him all day. It was
great! We got some hella funny footage of him riding on the back of bikes,
riding the fiddy's and even captured his first wheelie crash on the 400EX. At
first I thought we killed him cause he didnt move, then he came to and just
complained about his back hurting. I gave him a few vic's and that set him
straight. Footage of all this will be featured in Patrick Stephens part 2 video
release... PSF 2, and im sure a few shots will be thrown in to A Few Loose
Screws II. Both are to be released sometime in 2005!
Oct 5th...6 months after I broke my leg! Its
been a long 6 months not being able to ride! This summer pretty much sucked!
Heres a little clip I put together of my first few days back on the bike. The
clip is all the kc guys tearing it up at Watsons road! Other riders include.
KCMW - Grant, Greg, Mikey, & Johnny ... Team Clinc - Aaron Cline ...
HarleyStunts - Jeff ... 50 riders - AdamF4i, Nate, Kortney and
Nicole.
"Ride of the Century" St. Louis, Mo hosted by
the Streetfighterz (www.streetfighterz.com) Whoaaaaa, what a weekend! We didnt
get out of KC until 7:30pm on Friday, so we arrived into downtown St. Louis
around 11:30pm. This is when all the madness started! The Streetfighterz had a
special VIP party for all the stunters set up at this bar called "The Drink".
Thats pretty much what we did. And did alot of it! Party'd it up with
everyone...the Starboyz, Streetfighterz, KCMW, Shockers, PBZ, New York boyz,
Drew Stone, all the girls, and the locals. It was off the hook. Saturday,
everyone woke up feeling like ass! Most of us made it up in time for breakfast
at the Embassy. The food was great! After breakfast everyone pretty much got
ready for the RIDE and then chilled over at Vaghn's house. This part of the day
really sucked! Everyone was still hurting from all the alcohol and the hangovers
that were not going away. Around 3:30 we all met downtown St. Louis in front of
the Arch for the ride. Over 500 bikes showed up along with stunt teams from all
over the country. A few riders even made the trip down from Canada.
(www.uponone.com) The ride was nuts, all the lead bikes ripped it up for miles
on the rear wheel. I rocked the helmet cam and captured alot of pimp wheelies
along the way. After the ride everyone was hungry so we bailed pretty fast and
went down the the landing area and ate a nice dinner at Jake's Steaks. After
dinner everyone was tired and full, so we ended up crashing back at the hotel
for a few hours. Then, it was that time again, time to head out to the landing
area and meet up for some drinks with at "The Drink" It was ruff at first, but
after a few drinks the hangovers had washed away and all the madness would start
all over again. Sunday morning check out time was at noon! I missed breakfast
and didnt wake up tel 11:59. Everyone was really hurting , we had to pack up
really fast. We werent to worried about the check out time, but the fact that
everyone was meeting downtown in front of the Arch at noon to ride had us in a
hurry! After about a 100 point turn in the parking lot (all the Rams fans were
tailgating) we managed to get the truck and trailer out of the lot and on the
road. We met up with everyone and headed out to a secret Industrial Park where
the streetfighterz practice. Around 50 bikes showed up and it turned out to be a
pretty sweet day. Johnny of KCMW had a little get off on a stoppie crash, but
other then that it was a safe day of riding and turned out to be a excellent day
for riding! Drew stone was onsite filming for his next Urban Streetbike film.
Kortney and I ran the cameras too and got alot of pimp shots for A Few Loose
Screws part II as well. After the long day of riding, we stopped off in St.
Louie for a quick bite and then voyaged back across the state for home to Kansas
City. Check out this link to see all the pics from the trip!
Kort and I drove down to RMHC today and
presented the Ronald McDonald House with all the donations from the "Circle the
City" ride! Total donations came to $3,824.00! I hadn't put in my own donation
yet, so I donated $176.00 to bring the grand total up to an even
$4,000.00!!! The staff at RMHC were excited and very appreciative of the
ride. I myself want to thank everyone for comming out! I'd say close to 500
bikes showed up for this charity event, and it took all of us working together
to provide this large donation! I also want to thank everyone who helped with
the ride... Smithers Customs, Red Bull, Dannys Bar & Grill, Olathe Suzuki,
Ferodo, Sha-Sha Fine Shoes, LBZ, KC Sportbike, Copa Racing, Alpinestars, Impact
Video, Tantalus, KC's Mostwanted, everyone that helped pass out flyers and
everyone else for coming out for the ride! I feel the ride this year was a huge
success! Thanks again for your support! - Dan Jackson
Sunday was my 1st time on the bike since April
4th! (broken femur on the 5th) I tell ya, it felt good to finally be back on the
street bike again. Its been a long summer sitting at home wishing I could throw
my leg over a bike and ride! Sunday, that time finally came around at a show up
in Waterloo, Ia! I blew off the cobwebs, put some gas in the 954 and decided to
tear it up! I really didnt get to crazy on the bike, basiclly I just cruised
around for 30 minutes doing slow wheelies and a few burnouts here and there!
Heck, it felt like I was just on the bike a few days ago! After about 5 min on
the bike, I decided to pop some wheelies! I was busting out stand up no-handers
and slow 12 combo's within minutes. I cant wait for the knee to get full movment
and really start practicing. Right now I can only bend my knee 103 degrees. I
need 145 degrees to reach full movement! I was unable to sit down on the 954 and
ride. I had to stand up the entire time! LOL
I want to thank Johnny, Mikey, and Aaron from
the KC's Mostwanted stunt team for performing for me this weekend! They put on
one heck of a show for the Harley Davidson Battletrax Event up in Waterloo, IA.
I look forward to riding with all of them and a few others this weeknd for my
2nd annual Circle the City Charity Ride! Heres a link to the pics from the show
up in Waterloo: Waterloo, IA Battletrax Pics
